Frequently asked questions(FAQ)
What are the Audi service intervals?
Audi needs maintenance every 10,000 miles or one year after the last service, whichever comes first. A warning light on the dashboard, the wrench icon, will illuminate when the next service interval is reached. The ‘Service Due’ light reminds you when maintenance is due.
The first minor maintenance service occurs at 10,000 miles or one year after you buy it. The minor maintenance services are performed at intervals of 20,000 or every 2 years, depending on when the last minor maintenance service was.
Standard maintenance service begins at 20,000 miles or 2 years after you buy it. The standard maintenance service is then performed at intervals of 2 years or 20,000 miles after the last standard maintenance service. These intervals are for vehicles driven under normal conditions. Certain operations must be performed within the specified intervals if you are operating in severe driving conditions. This is especially true for engine oil changes, cleaning and replacing the air filter.
What does a minor Audi service cover?
A minor Audi service includes a complete vehicle inspection, diagnostic checks, oil and filter replacement, vehicle greasing, and tyre rotations by a factory-trained technician. This service can be included in the logbook, and it may be called a basic service.
What does a standard Audi service cover?
A standard Audi service is more comprehensive than a minor service. Standard service will be more detailed and include more replacements of worn parts, such as air filters, spark plugs, coolant and brake fluid.
How much does an Audi service cost?
It is impossible to give a correct price, because it depends on the model, the manufacture year, the type of oil needed and, last but not least, the price of the worn parts detected by the inspection that need to be replaced. How often does an Audi need an oil change?
Audi recommends, in general, that the oil should be changed once a year or 10,000 miles. However, newer models have a such called Longlife service interval extended to 2 years or 20,000-30,000 miles. To be sure, you can refer to your owner’s manual for the recommended intervals. We strongly recommend changing your oil once every 5,000-7,000 miles if you have a supercharged or a sport turbocharged engine, given the extreme heat these engines develop. For late-model engines, even ones with long life service intervals, the oil should be changed every 10,000 miles to extend the life and reliability of the engine. We recommend changing your oil every 5,000 miles for older models and models that use mineral-based oils.
How much should I expect to pay for major Audi repairs?
It is impossible to calculate the cost of major repairs on the Audi. To have the right price for a repair, please contact us!
